A few days ago in Prishtina and I met a Turkish artist who knew Mutlu. He said Mutlu had a show coming up in Istanbul. Today in Paris I met a curator from Warsaw. She showed me the list of artists for a show she’s curating and Mutlu’s name was on the list. I told her that he died. Then I felt really weird. Of course his work will be in the show and I hope the show in Istanbul happens and I hope that Mutlu’s work will continue to be shown along with his contemporaries in Australia and other places. It’s important that his work follows the trajectory that he planned and that there is the possibility for it to be received in the way that Mutlu wanted.
