Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces

It is with great shock and sadness that we learned of the recent passing of Mutlu Çerkez. Mutlu was a generous and respected contributor to Gertrude's programs for more than a decade, participating in the exhibitions Wall Drawings (1995); Practice as Technology (1996) and Mutlu Çerkez AND Marco Fusinato (2003), as well as undertaking a residency at Tower Studio with Marco Fusinato in 2001. Moreover, Mutlu was a gracious and long-standing participant in the life of Melbourne's art community, and both his own practice and the support of his peers and the broader community were always noted and appreciated. His contributions to both Gertrude and the wider community will be remembered fondly and appreciatively in the years to come.
